Training & Coaching
Simply stated — Arlene loves training and coaching Dispute Resolution (DR) professionals. If conflict has the potential to be a dynamic catalyst for positive change, then when mismanaged it can cause hostility and stress for everyone involved. Arlene is very proud of the part she plays in training a new generation of DR professionals who are able to step skillfully into the heart of such conflict, and help parties create effective solutions which are tailor-made for them.
In recent years, Arlene and her colleague have worked ardently to develop the new Family Mediation curriculum which is taught through the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC (CLE). This new curriculum covers 80 hours of instruction. In addition to the mediation curriculum, Arlene is also a primary instructor of training in:
- Family Law Arbitration
- Family Violence Screening
- Parenting Coordination
- Med-Arbitration (Med-Arb) – believed to be the first course of its kind in North America
As the field of mediation, med-arbitration and arbitration continue to develop and expand Arlene is excited by the opportunities. She is available to design and teach workshops, as well as single or multi-day courses within the conflict resolution spectrum.
